I growled lightly deep in my throat and cocked my head to the side, staring out into the forest that resided closely by the carnival. My lips curled unconsciously as my eyes narrowed. I glared out into dark thicket of trees, staring in between the trunks. I felt my energy shifting through my body angrily due to the kickoff of my instinct. I snorted lightly and faced everyone once again crossing my arms. My eyes widened slightly as a tall shadow loomed over me, the owner of said shadow appearing tense.

“What is this demon doing in MY carnival…?” DM’s voice growled, raw anger lacing through his sentence. I felt myself shrink down and I turned slightly to see DM glaring at Jack, his yellow eyes glowing faintly behind the purple lenses resting on his nose. I gulped and looked at Jack. He began to laugh his infamous laugh as he floated in the air.

“Don’t you worry my friend…I will behave…” DM’s lips curled downwards into a frown. His shoulders tensed up as his eyes narrowed.

“You and I are not even remotely close to being friends, demon... I am well aware of your actions that you have committed…so I only have one thing to say to you…Get the hell out of my carnival.” I took a step away from DM. I was frightened. Every syllable in his words dripped with poison; I had not heard such a threatening sound in all my life.  Jack smirked and he floated over to me, pinching my cheek.

“But (F/n) here and I are very good friends,” he hissed gleefully, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. Well, he tried to until Salad hissed at him, causing Jack to retract his arm. He glared at the lemur for a short time before turning his attention back to DM with a cocky smile. “Wherever she goes, I go, nothing else to it…I have been her best friend…and her first friend…ever since she was seven. Therefore, I have every right to be by her side…” I swallowed hard and turned my attention down to the ground. I didn't want to be seen that I purposely dragged him here with me, he had every chance to go home.

But, there was a fraction of me that never wanted him to leave…

“I don’t care if you are her ‘best friend’ or not, demons are only known for three actions: killing, lying, and causing mayhem. None of that will be tolerated here. If we were not on the carnival grounds, this might be different. It’s one thing to not be in the carnival… but it’s a completely different story while here… ”

Jack laughed and used his magic to lift Salad off of my shoulders and leave her floating in the air. I frowned at Jack. A small black halo appeared above his head and he smiled. DM snarled and inched closer to Jack.

“Oh, I promise I will be good…”

“As if I would ever believe that…” Jack smirked and inched closer to DM, his white iris glowing with anticipation.

“Why not? I'm really good with kids...” DM growled and reached out for Jack. Dove jumped in front of DM and held her hands up.

“Whoa whoa whoa! Please, DM, calm down…” I rubbed my temples as I felt a tingling sensation around my head and a slight hum.

“How can I calm down when there is a child-murdering demon in my carnival, Dove!?” Dove’s breath hitched and she turned to face me.

“He kills kids!? And you brought him here!?” I shook my head and took a step closer to them.

“He followed me here!” Dove glared at Jack.

“Then make him follow you out… I‘m sorry (F/n), but we can’t have him running around here…And neither do we need you…”

I didn't understand…what was happening!? It was as if my brain short-circuited and needed to be rebooted from the bewilderment. I felt the world rush past me while I stood cemented to the ground, watching in utter shock…

“Dove is right…we don’t need you here…” DM commented, “Nobody needs you…We have seen your actions…you only leave death and mayhem in your bloody footprints. Now leave…”

I felt myself grow dizzy and the world began to spin around me. I heard faint noises in the background, but it was clouded out. I felt tears run down my face, dripping onto my hands. I sniffed and began to close my eyes, my head dizzy from their words.

Jack laughed and wrapped his clawed fingers around my wrist, smiling maliciously down at me.

“Well you are part demon. Don’t worry princess that is a compliment…Don’t run away from what you are…” I stared at Jack with wide eyes as his clawed hands began to bore into my wrist. I whimpered and tried to pull away, but that only caused his claws to rake up my arm, severing the muscles in my hand. I watched with wide eyes and blood began to pour from the wound. I shut my eyes and let out a scream before I-

“(F/n!),” A voice screamed out, shattering the scene.

I gasped and saw myself standing in the same place breathing heavily. Everyone looked at me with concerned faces. Aria hand her hands on my face, rubbing my cheekbones with her thumbs. Tears held onto the corners of her eyes, her pink lips frowning.

I sniffed and winced at my arm, looking down at it. Aria was using her healing powers to treat the wound that ‘Jack’ had put on me. I whimpered and looked back at Aria, my head dizzy.

“Are you okay,” she whispered gently like a mother consulting her child. I glanced into her baby blue eyes.

“What just happened?”

“I’m…I’m not really sure…”

“What happened,” Sakiri began, “was that part of her conscious was temporarily disabled so that an outside force could project a scenario into her mind, forcing her to think that something bad is happening when in reality she is just standing there, displaying her emotions, like when she began to cry for example.”

I frowned and stared at the forest once again. I squinted and looked into the shadows. I blocked out everything around me and turned completely to the forest, my nerves going haywire. I felt an inhuman growl crawl its way out of my throat. I took a few steps closer and pushed my sight farther into the forest.

My eyes widened when I saw the demonic energies hiding in the shadows, the darkness in them swarming around. I growled as I turned towards the woods, the negative vibes growing stronger.

“(F/n)? What is it,” Dove questioned. I looked at the forest for a few moments before cocking my head to look at Dove.

“I have something I need to take care of something…Salad, down…” Salad squeaked and jumped onto the ground, sitting on her back legs while staring up at me curiously. “Aria, Sakiri….Recall…” Aria and Sakiri began to siphon back into my body, the black and white energies entering through the palm of my hands.  Dove grabbed my wrist.

“What are you doing (F/n)?” I slowly turned my head to her, flashing her a grin.

“We have some bad company…”

I faded from my spot and appeared in front of the tree line, glaring into the darkness. I managed to pick up their subtle footsteps crunching dead leaves. A cool gust brushed past me, which also rustled the trees.

“Warden…”

“Here…”

“She is the one…”

“Master wants…"

I heard all their petty whispers, their voiced echoed and growling, followed shortly by an occasional chuckle and stomp of the foot. I turned and made my way into the forest, cutting through the branches with my energies.

I was about twenty feet into the forest before I heard a hiss and something latched onto my back, its claws digging into my back. It hissed again as it brought one of its arms to my face and tried to scratch my eyes, but it only managed to scratch the side of my face.

“You little bastard,” I hissed, grabbing it by one arm. I pulled it over my head and threw it onto the ground, stomping on it with my foot. It turned into a shadow and began to run away. I appeared in front of the shadow creature and summoned up celestial energy into my right hand, immediately grabbing the thing. It hissed in pain as the celestial energy began to crack its skin, sending black blood spraying from its body and onto me and the area around us. Once it was completely gone, I growled happily and made my way deeper into the woods.

The same feeling was starting to arise again. It was the same feeling I had before I killed Zachayrrius and his little demon buddies. I looked down at my hand to see that it had now turned into a shadow/celestial-like clawed arm. I wiggled my fingers around and looked at a pretty thick tree. I smirked and ran up to it, aiming right for the middle.

It cut through it like scissors to paper.

I gasped as a large clawed grey arm with spikes grabbed me and twisted my arm behind me. I groaned in pain at a tearing sensation. I opened my eyes to glare at my captor demon over my shoulder. He chuckled, his breath not smelling like flowers on a crisp spring dawn.

“Now just stay calm sweetheart and we won’t have to have any broken bones or bruises,” his gravelly voice said. I snarled and summoned shadows around us. I chuckled and leaned off of his body.

“That won’t be a problem…” I lifted my hands up a bit and the shadows on the ground shot up, impaling him through his own body, his blood also splattering on me. He roared in pain and wiggled to get free. I took my claw and shoved it straight though his chest and out the other side. He gagged for a few seconds before combusting into celestial/holy fire, lighting up the area around us. I smiled and looked down at my blood-coated hands, strings of blood dripping and connecting the two hands.

Shaking off the blood, I went into my demonic Archwolf form and shot further into the forest, my keen sense of smell and hearing searching all around me for another demon. I sniffed the air and laughed in delight as I caught the scent of a demon nearby. I smiled and sped up faster as I could hear the demon trying to run away.

I jumped through some bushes and latched onto the back of the demon’s neck, easily snapping it. The demon tried to scream, but it only came out a gurgled sound. I threw the corpse to the side and snarled. Why were these demons so weak!?

“Because they were there to distract you…” A feminine voice whispered in my ear. I jumped and looked all around me, glaring.

“Who’s there!? Show yourself!” The voice chuckled and I thought I could feel nails gently raking from my jugular up. I shivered.
“Trust me (F/n), you will find out soon enough…” With that, the raking sensation and the voice faded away. Who was that!? And what did she mean by distract me?

Wait…

NO!

I raced through the forest and back to the carnival at an inhuman speed, tears welding up in my eyes. No, they weren't going to pay for this!

I arrived at the carnival to see that it was just fine. I breathed heavily, looking everywhere. Was she just fucking with me in order to preserve those demons? Because I’m sure as hell not se-

I flew back into the air and landed roughly on the ground as someone uppercut me. I groaned and shakily sat up, wiping the small trail of blood from my mouth. Standing in front of me was a pack of three demons standing at probably seven feet high with long curved horns and a purple translucent fire coating their leathery-looking skin. They grinned at me, revealing sharp black teeth.

“So there is the Spirit Warden….”

“Let me guess, you are the bitches of that woman who was talking to me?” The demons chuckled and one of them stepped closer to me. I growled as I felt my energies kick-starting again, ready to defend myself.

“That woman you are talking about is our master, Sombaria. So come on sweetie, let’s not make this hard on any of us… Just come with us and everything will be smooth sailing.”

“Tell that to the last demon who told me that. Now he is nothing but a hunk of dead meet lying in the forest…” The demons scowled and lowered their eyes at me.

“Well, you obviously aren’t going to cooperate with us…”

“No, really? Gee, I wish I was as smart as you guys!”

The main demon growled and flashed his fangs.

“Retrieve that little bitch!” The demons screeched and sprinted towards me, their obsidian talons chewing at the bit to sink into flesh. I smirked and rushed after them, my celestial claws forming once again. One demon flexed his fingers. I felt the ground rumble under me and I shifted to the side just in time before a large spike impaled me.

I flipped over the group of demons and grabbed the one in the back. I impaled my claw through his abdomen and ripped up, causing him to shriek in pain and burn into ash from the celestial energy.

The second demon managed to scratch my cheek which began to burn. Before he could swipe at me again, I grabbed a hold of his arm. He screeched in pain as the celestial energy began to crack his skin, the cracks sparking into fire.

“You worthless things…” I surprised myself when my voice was demonic toned, “you aren’t fit to me my opponents!” I tugged the demon down bashed him under the jaw, sending him flying back. I used some momentum and did a small flip over him, deeply scratching down his entire front. He screamed and combusted into white flames.

I yelped as I felt another spike scratch my arm, barley missing the side of my head as it streaked past my face dangerously close. I glanced over at my arm to see my shoulder starting to bleed with a giant gash. Blood rushed down my arm and dripped onto the grass below. I snarled at the demon and he smirked at me.

“You may have caught the other two by surprise, Spirit Warden…but I won’t be so- ACK!” The demon stared at me with wide eyes and a shaky body, trails of black blood dripping out of his mouth. He slowly looked down to see a black claw with a black and white striped long-sleeved shirt skewer out of his chest. The demon gave one last laughing gurgle before the arm pulled out, letting the corpse fall to the floor.

I blinked and looked at Jack who was glaring down at the demon. His gaze turned to me and he appeared next to me, gently cradling my injured arm while looking at it.

“Sombaria…” he growled, his eyes glowing in anger.
Oh my gawd, I AM SO SORRY that this is really late! I kept getting distracted thus resulting in major procrastination lol
